Glenbard East’s graduation postponed
The graduation ceremony planned for Friday evening at Glenbard East High School in Lombard has been postponed due to the forecast for inclement weather, school district officials said.
The ceremony will take place at noon Saturday, and officials will decide by 10 a.m. Saturday whether the ceremony will be held indoors or outdoors, according to Glenbard District 87 spokeswoman Peg Mannion.
The Friday night graduation was scheduled to take place on the football field.
All four high schools in Glenbard District 87 are hosting their graduations on campus this year. Typically, Glenbard East and Glenbard North — the two schools with the largest enrollments in the district — hold ceremonies at the College of DuPage’s Physical Education Center. But that building is undergoing renovations and won’t be available until 2014.
Glenbard West’s graduation, meanwhile, was moved indoors Friday night to Biester Gym from Duchon Field because of the weather.
