Area flash flood watch continues

A flash flood watch continues until noon Wednesday as showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the morning, according to the National Weather Service..

Much of Tuesday's predicted serious weather hit areas in central Illinois Tuesday night, with an unconfirmed tornado touch down in the Grundy and Will county areas, said Meteorologist Gino Izzi with the National Weather Service.

Only minor damage was reported in the Northern and Western suburbs, officials said.

Wednesday is expected to be a muggy day with temperatures into the 80s and maybe higher, with a chance of storms springing up, Izzi said.
