Daily Herald Report

Gurnee police officers will be on a doughnut shop's roof in the name of a good cause Friday, May 31. They'll participate in the 11th Annual Dunkin' Donuts Cop on Rooftop event, from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m. At a record 150 locations across the state, hundreds of local law enforcement officers will stake out Dunkin' Donuts rooftops. This is the third year that Gurnee officers will be in the event to heighten awareness and raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. Officers will be asking for donations and selling Torch Run merchandise such as hats, T-shirts, lapel pins and Harley-Davidson motorcycle raffle tickets.
