11th Annual Arts Festival Fills Bartlett Park June 29-30

The 11th Annual Arts Festival produced by Arts in Bartlett will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, June 29-30, 2013 in Bartlett Park at Oak and North Avenues. A juried art show with nearly 50 artists fills the park with a variety of paintings and drawings, photography, jewelry, sculpture and metalwork, ceramics, and mixed media art, making this year’s event a must for those looking for that special gift or décor for their home or business. The judges will select various award winners on Saturday and the votes for visitors’ favorite artist will determine the People’s Choice Award on Sunday.

Participating artists will also donate small items for Young Art Appreciators (YAA!) “kids only” tent where they can purchase original art for $1, $2, or $5 with proceeds going toward Arts in Bartlett scholarships and grants. Parents can then take them to meet the artists and learn more about their techniques. Children can also have their faces painted and create their own art in the Gazebo led by the Color My World Children’s Art Studio teachers.

Entertainment on the main stage includes singers, dancers, folk, rock and classical groups, ensembles, with “after hours” rock and blues bands playing until sundown. The World Tent features drumming circles and a henna artist. Food vendors and a beer and wine tent near the stage make this a great place to hang out all day.

This year’s Arts Festival is sponsored by the Village of Bartlett, the Bartlett Park District, the Bartlett Examiner, Daily Herald, Renewal by Andersen, Elgin Children’s Choir, A. Mategrano DDS, Stratford Square Mall Management and Good Sounds.
