Run/Walk 5K for Animal House Shelter’s benefit

The third annual Animal House Shelter 5K Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Fel Pro RRR, 1520 Crystal Lake Road, Cary. Registration and check-in will begin at 7 a.m.

The race will be on a certified course, timed and results will be posted on the website, www.animalhouseshelter.com.

Catered food will be provided for all runners and walkers.

The top three male and female overall finishers and in each age group will receive awards.

All preregistered participants will receive a T-shirt. The day-of-race participants will receive a T-shirt as supplies last.

The event includes a 1-mile fun run for families, dogs and kids. Cost is $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the race.

Founded in June 2002, Animal House Shelter in Huntley takes in and cares for abused, neglected and abandoned animals — especially those scheduled for euthanasia at other shelters. Once rehabilitated and ready, they are carefully matched with prospective adopters and placed in loving homes. More than 23,000 pets have been adopted from Animal House Shelter.
