Local Athletes Win World Championships in Karate

Fishman, who is a two-time world champion, having won the world championship in kumite in the 11-year-old division in Venice, Italy in 2010, also repeated her bronze medal performance in kata (form) from 2010 by capturing third place in the world championships in Melbourne in that event.

Several local athletes from Focus Martial Arts at Lake in the Hills competed in Melbourne, Australia in the World Karate Confederation World Championships May 9 -12. They were among 65 athletes representing the United States. A2 countries who participated in thius year's World Championships.

Focus Martial Arts had five athletes on the US team.
