Cops on restaurant roofs for good cause

Hundreds of Illinois law enforcement officers, including many in the Northwest suburbs, staked out Dunkin’ Donuts rooftops starting at 5 a.m. Friday to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Police officers were hoping to top last year’s total of $240,000 in donations.

Northwest suburban Cop on a Rooftop locations included: Elgin, 263 S. Randall, 80 Tyler Creek Plaza, 95 Clock Tower Plaza and 1730 N. State St.; Hoffman Estates, 1165 N. Barrington Road; Mount Prospect, 1001 S. Busse Road, 820 E. Rand Road and 1301 N. Wolf Road; Park Ridge, 2606 W. Dempster and 1129 W. Touhy Ave.; Roselle, 247 E. Irving Park Road; Schaumburg, 477 W. Golf Road and Streamwood, 656 S. Sutton Road.
