Presidential honor awarded to Roselle’s RIM Logistics

Roselle-based RIM Logistics recently received the 2013 President’s “E” Award for export service, in recognition of its continuing support of export growth in the U.S. business community for at least five years.

RIM Logistics was one of 57 U.S. organizations to receive the award from the U.S. Department of Commerce this year.

“We are thrilled to bring home this prestigious award from the Department of Commerce,” said Robert J. Mueller, chairman and CEO. “This Presidential Honor proves what our clients already know. RIM Logistics is dedicated to the growth of U.S. exports and helps each of our clients seamlessly send their products overseas.”

The E Award dates back to World War II, when more than 4,000 “E Pennants” were presented to war plants in recognition of production excellence. The famous flag with the big “E” emblazoned on it became a badge of patriotism in action.

President Kennedy revived the “E” symbol of excellence to honor and provide recognition to America’s exporters in 1961. The award seeks to recognize businesses that significantly contribute to the effort to increase United States exports.

On behalf of RIM Logistics, Sheila Serafin, vice president global accounts, and Matilda Vazquez, export compliance Manager, traveled to Washington, D.C. to accept the award at the Department of Commerce.

RIM Logistics is an international, privately-owned domestic and international logistics and warehouse/distribution company with 250 employees headquartered in Roselle.
