Poster art sought for fundraiser:

The Vernon Hills police department is seeking original artwork from any student in grades K through 8 that can be used on posters, fliers, and other promotional materials for the Run From the Cops 5K run/walk fundraiser. It will benefit Honor Flight Chicago, an organization dedicated to honoring our nation’s World War II veterans. Art work should highlight themes of patriotism, service, and gratitude, while promoting the Honor Flight’s mission. A maximum of three colors should be used. Submissions are due no later than May 27. First consideration will be given to youths who live in and/or attend school in Vernon Hills. Submissions with the artist’s name, address, age, and school should be dropped off at the police station, 740 N. Lakeview Parkway, to the attention of Officer Shannon Holubetz. Participating veterans are flown to Washington, D.C. to experience the World War II Memorial. Visit runfromthecops5k.com and honorflightchicago.org.
