'Summer' exhibit arrives at Gallery 200 in June

West Chicago, Illinois: May 15, 2013 - This June, Gallery 200 will present the Featured Artist Show SUMMER to usher in the season. Ten Gallery member artists with a wide variety of media will display their art work from June 6 - 30, 2013.

Exhibitors include mixed media by Buddy Plumlee, Mandy Rakow and Deb Donnelly; water color by Lou Jacobson and Kristine Plum; acrylic painting by Lew Achenbach; soft pastel by Heide Morris; collage by Annie Phillips; pencil and prints by Fredericka Howard and books and papers by Cheryl Mahowald. Each artist has developed a unique style and technique in working with their respective media and subjects will center around the theme of summer.

An opening reception to meet the artists will be held Friday evening, June 7, 2013 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and music will be provided by artist and musician Mandy Rakow.

Gallery 200 is a cultural initiative supported by the City of West Chicago and the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission, and is one more reason West Chicago was named an Illinois Arts Friendly Community in 2007.
