Barrington philanthropists approached Net56 looking to help them donate computers to a private boarding school in upstate New York that had no technology in their classrooms.
As a Samsung Partner, Net56 helped the philanthropists purchase low-cost Samsung Chromebooks and deploy a wireless network. Net56 believed in the cause enough to donate its time to set up and remotely manage the Chromebooks from its private data center in Palatine, IL.
In addition, Net56 remotely trained staff on how to use the free, cloud-based Google Apps for Education in the classroom. This not only allowed staff and students to be more efficient and productive, but also allowed parents to see their children’s work from afar.
Net56 has much experience setting up and remotely managing Google Apps for Education that generally accompanies Chromebooks in schools. This project was accomplished at a cost of less than $195/student/year including all hardware.
