Huntley 4, Grayslake North 2: Tamara Funke had a 2-run home run as Huntley scored 4 runs in the sixth inning to win this Fox Valley Conference crossover. Randi Peterson added a double and an RBI for the Red Raiders (19-10) while winning pitcher Haley Spannraft was 2-for-3 and Megan Baczewski had an RBI. Spannraft allowed 6 hits.

Westminster Christian 23, St. Benedict 1: Ally Heischler (2B, 3 RBI), Rachel Fugiel (2b, 3B, 3 RBI), Jackie Calabrese (2B, 3B, RBI), Maddie King and Liz Farwell (3-for-4, 2B) each had 3 hits to lead the Warriors to an easy win in the semifinals of the Class 1A Westminster regional. Rachel Rich was 2-for-4 with a double and triple for Westminster (11-8), which will play the winner of today’s game between Christian Liberty and Luther North in Saturday’s championship game. Fugiel was the winning pitcher, allowing just 1 hit with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Batavia 10, Larkin 8: Alex Buhrow was 4-for-4 with a home run, double and 2 RBI and Lexi Price went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI but Larkin (3-22, 2-13) fell just short in the Upstate Eight River. Sarah Hansen was the losing pitcher.

Hampshire 4, McHenry 1: Jordan Hook was 2-for-4 with a double and Aly Snider added a double while Jen Hurst scattered 6 hits with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk to lead the Whip-Purs (10-17) to an FVC crossover win.

Elgin 14, Streamwood 7: Anna Eckholm was 5-for-5 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles and 5 RBI to lead the Maroons (12-11, 6-9) to a UEC River win. Monica Stockman had a double and 2 RBI and Lissette Sanchez was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Elgin. Jessica Rago was the winning pitcher. For Streamwood (5-18, 2-13, Jessica Daley went 3-for-4 with a double and Holly Foret was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Kaitlyn Hedger took the loss.

Jacobs 14, Woodstock 4: Alyssa Lach was 2-for-3 with a double and Emily Borg had a home run as Jacobs (15-14) won this FVC crossover. Kelsey Peters was the winning pitcher.
