The opening of Addison Park District's Community Park outdoor pool could be delayed for a month or more as crews work to repair the aluminum liner damaged by April flooding.

The district's insurance carrier has approved the initial claim, officials said Tuesday, and repairs are scheduled to begin this week at the 37-year-old facility. Officials said the pool likely will open in July instead of on June 1 as originally scheduled.

District staff members are modifying the pool schedule for programs and lessons and hope to announce a revised slate as soon as possible. New adjusted fees for pool passes are expected to be announced this week.

The splash pad will open June 1 as scheduled.
