Six charged, two injured in Naperville bar fight

By Justin Kmitch

An early morning fight Sunday at BlackFinn American Saloon in downtown Naperville left two people injured, including a bar employee, and resulted in charges against six patrons, authorities said Monday.

Police chief Robert Marshall said saloon employees called police shortly after 1 a.m. when a "significant rumble" broke out on the third floor of the establishment at 16 W. Jefferson Ave.

Marshall said his recently enacted plan to have four police officers stationed downtown as part of an overtime detail quickly came into play.

"We're very fortunate to have our four officers in place because we needed them all," Marshall said. "They arrived and walked into a full-fledged fight in the establishment."

Charged with battery and criminal damage to property are Robert McIntosh, 25, of Plano; Tyler Johnson, 24, of Elgin; Adam Gregoriou, 26, of Naperville; and Justin Field, 32, of Channahon.

Ronald Wood, 38, of Channahon was charged with battery, resisting arrest and criminal damage to property after police said he pushed an officer. Michael McNamara, 41, of Minooka, was charged with battery and resisting arrest after police said he jumped on an officer's back and pushed him.

Marshall said McNamara is a police officer for the south suburban village of Justice. According to the village's website, McNamara is a corporal and has won the department's narcotics enforcement award on several occasions.

The patron who was injured was treated at Edward Hospital and released. Police said they expect similar charges to be filed against that individual as well.
