A 32-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to cocaine charges after authorities searched his Elgin home last July. Jayson P. Sturdivant, of Elgin, was on probation for a felony drug charge in 2010, pleaded guilty late Friday in exchange for prosecutors dropping the most serious charges that could have landed him in prison up to 30 years. His trial was set for Monday.
