If you believe in local representation via township government, I respectfully suggest that you may be interested in finding out more of the details by attending the meetings. The next two meetings may be of particular interest.

Unfortunately the attendance at monthly meetings is usually very limited; sometimes only four or five of us, which it too bad because the meetings are usually only an hour long and deal with where our tax dollars are being spent. Often our representative on the Kane County Board, T.R. Smith, shares what is going on at the county level.

Recently our adjoining township has been experiencing some major problems which have been covered by the media. Let's do our best to learn from others and maintain our Rutland Township by being financially responsible.

Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month at the Township Office at the corner of Powers and Big Timber Road in rural Gilberts.
