Republican state Sen. Kirk Dillard, a possible gubernatorial candidate in 2014, will stop in Arlington Heights on Saturday morning for an event with the Wheeling Township Republicans.
The event is open to the public and starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Wheeling Township Republican headquarters, 900 E. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, said Committeeman Ruth O’Connell.
“It is important for our precinct captains, who will be voting on endorsements later this year, to meet, hear and question everyone who is exploring a candidacy for next March’s Republican nomination for governor,” said O’Connell in a statement. “Illinois voters and taxpayers are facing critical issues as we approach the opportunity 2014 gives us to make real changes in Springfield. We want our voting neighbors to be informed and to help the Republican Party put our best foot forward.”
Dillard, of Hinsdale, came in second for the GOP nomination for governor in 2010.
