Mundelein rolls to win No. 20

Mundelein's baseball team battled the rain and cold to notch its 20th win of the season Friday.

The Mustangs improved to 20-1 with a 12-0 victory over visiting Round Lake in a North Suburban Conference crossover.

Junior left-hander Josh Cotto earned the win.

Stevenson 9, Antioch 5: The North Suburban crossover got moved to Stevenson when Antioch's field was ruled unplayabe.

Stevenson (13-6) was led offensively by Jimmy Marchese (2-for-4, 2 RBI), Tony Heiser (2-for-4, RBI, run) and Mitchell Goll (1-for-4, 2 RBI).

Jordan Sheinkop earned the win in relief, throwing 3 innings of 1-hit ball with 5 strikeouts.

Antioch (12-8) got a double and an RBI from Matt DeJong.

Softball

Zion-Benton 16, Stevenson 5: The host Zee-Bees captured the North Suburban Lake Division make-up game.

Morgan Manka went 2-for-2 and scored a run for Stevenson (11-10), while Jordan Cortesi delivered a 2-run single. Patriots pitcher Sam Feder struck out five.

Girls soccer

Antioch 3, Zion-Benton: Mikayla Abbeduto scored twice for the Sequoits in the North Suburban crossover.

Kali Pooe also scored. Alex Fracek, Devin Kappie and Abbi McIlhany contributed assists.

Sequoits keeper Shannon Zogran had the shutout in goal.
