Alcock, Wheaton North win in seventh inning

Emma Alcock hit a two-run single with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Wheaton North rallying with 3 runs in its final at bat to beat Naperville North 3-2 on Wednesday.

Wheaton North (5-16, 2-4 DuPage Valley Conference) scored the tying run on an error with the bases loaded, setting up Alcock's late heroics. Amanda Mordacq scattered 7 hits for the win. Hannah Robert was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored for Naperville North (10-7, 5-3).

Naperville Central 8, Glenbard East 0:

Laura Dierking homered twice, and Julie Kestas (8-0) threw a two-hitter with one walk, striking out seven, for the No. 1 Redhawks (21-0, 7-0 DVC).

Glenbard North 10, West Chicago 1:

Sarah Petzold was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, and the No. 4 Panthers (13-3, 6-2 DVC) broke it open with a six-run fifth inning. Heather Sperlazzo was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, Sydney Benz 3-for-5 with a double and winning pitcher Lindsey Cherry (10-3) threw five no-hit innings, striking out two.

Lake Park 9, Metea Valley 2:

Sam Cummings hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the fourth inning, and Kelly O'Neill also went deep for the No. 11 Lancers (18-5, 8-3 Upstate Eight Conference) in Aurora.

Downers Grove North 6, Glenbard West 3:

Kelsey Gockman broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with her fifth homer of the year, and Elaine Heflin (11-3) struck out 13 for the No. 10 Trojans in Downers Grove. Carolyn Nojiri was 4-for-4 with a double, making her 9-for-9 over the last two days for Downers Grove North (14-6, 6-0 West Suburban Silver).

Downers Grove South 1, Hinsdale South 0:

Carolyn Hedgcock's bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the 10th gave the Mustangs (11-5, 5-0 West Suburban Gold) their seventh straight win. Kristen Bialek was 2-for-5 for Downers Grove South and led off the 10th-inning rally with a single. Hedgcock (6-4) went the distance on the mound, scattering 6 hits with 3 strikeouts.

Montini 20, Chicago Christian 5:

Shaylee Lewis hit a three-run homer, and the Broncos (18-3, 11-0 Suburban Christian Conference Blue) had seven different players with multiple hits in winning their 12th straight. Isabell Alexander was 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI, Emily Lezcano 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and an RBI and winning pitcher Lauran Trojnar 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI.

IC Catholic Prep 2, Rosary 0:

Jessica Conenna struck out eight in a three-hit shutout, and went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for the Knights (9-7, 4-5 Suburban Christian Conference Blue).

St. Francis 12, St. Edward 0:

Ali Dittrich had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Maggie Remus (11-0) threw a shutout for the Spartans.
