Local authors to discuss overcoming learning disabilities May 15 at Ela Area Library

Ela Area Public Library District will host local authors Eileen Gold Kushner and Kathy Young for a free program in the auditorium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday May 15. They will discuss their book, “Smart On The Inside — A True Story About Succeeding In Spite of Learning Disabilities.”

Eileen Gold Kushner will share her inspirational story of overcoming learning disabilities and discovering her inner talents to become the owner/operator of three Chicago area McDonald’s restaurants. Kushner co-authored the book “Smart on the Inside” with Kathy Young, a special-education teacher. They will discuss how parents and teachers can encourage children who learn differently to believe in themselves and succeed with perseverance.
