Lisle's Ventrella throws no-hitter

Lisle 4, Seneca 0:

Alex Ventrella came an error away from a perfect game, pitching a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts for the Lions (11-6, 8-2) in their Interstate Eight Conference victory. Ryan Van Volkenburg doubled and homered. Billy Loconsole also had 2 hits.

Wheaton North 10, West Aurora 0:

Winning pitcher Tom Colletti went 3-for-3 with 5 RBI and allowed only 3 hits while striking out three for the Falcons (16-3, 9-2) to cap their DuPage Valley Conference sweep. Ryan Kent, Johnny Peltz and Lake Bachar each had 2 hits.

Glenbard East 4, Naperville North 3:

Greg Ludwig's 3-run homer in the bottom of the fourth powered the Rams (7-17, 3-9) to their second straight DuPage Valley Conference win over Naperville North (9-7, 5-5). Nick Vichio also homered while D.J. Spears was the complete-game winning pitcher. Mark Khoury homered and Pat Mollo had 2 RBI for the Huskies.

WW South 9, West Chicago 6:

With the score knotted at 6-6, the Tigers (13-7, 8-3) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to edge West Chicago (3-14, 0-9) in the DuPage Valley Conference. Rich O'Neil homered and drove in 3 runs. Matt Walsh doubled with 2 RBI. Chris Amen won in relief of Baylor Holmes. A.J. Seidler went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI for the Wildcats.

Neuqua Valley 12, Metea Valley 3:

Drew Sterioti went 3-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI for the Wildcats (14-7, 11-4) in their Upstate Eight Conference victory. Dylan Goss also homered. David Gerber allowed 3 hits over 6 innings to win on the mound. Michael Mooney drove in 2 runs for Metea Valley (5-12, 4-10).

Naperville Central 10, Glenbard North 3:

The Redhawks (14-4, 9-2) capped a key DuPage Valley Conference sweep in Naperville. Jeff Schank and Jeff Lucas had 3 hits apiece while Nick Thomas drove in 2 runs. Zach Aranoff was the winning pitcher. Brett Consitt went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Glenbard North (11-7, 8-3).

St. Francis 4, Marian Central 2:

The Spartans (10-7, 7-3) scored all their runs in the first two innings of their Suburban Christian Conference victory. Alex Alcantara and T.J. Jackson each had 2 hits while Andrew Brundage had 2 RBI. Jack Petrando pitched 6 innings for the win.

York 5, Hinsdale Central 3:

The Dukes (10-11, 6-8) broke out to a 5-0 lead and held on late to take two of three from Hinsdale Central (11-6, 7-5) in their West Suburban Silver series. Pete Doughty and Dan Cirone had 2 hits. Tyler Zunkel drove in 2 runs in support of complete-game winner Anthony Santos. Jacob White went 2-for-4 with a triple for Hinsdale Central.

Leyden 9, Addison Trail 8:

Jordan Garcia went 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI for the Blazers (7-13, 5-7), who scored a run in the top of the seventh while trying to rally to victory in the West Suburban Gold. Nick Rybarczyk and Rocco Costabile drove in 2 runs apiece.

Hinsdale South 10, Morton 0:

Seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning ended the West Suburban Gold victory for the Hornets (15-5, 10-5). Winning pitcher Mike Marrera, who struck out seven and allowed 3 hits, had 2 RBI at the plate. Mike Rizzo went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.

Aurora Christian 7, Wheaton Academy 4:

Chris Johnson tripled, homered and drove in 3 runs in the Suburban Christian Conference loss by the Warriors (1-13, 0-10).

Illiana Christian 8, Timothy Christian 6:

Emerson Bandemer went 3-for-4 with a 3-run homer and Cole Miller went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, but the Trojans (1-11, 1-8) fell in the Metro Suburban Conference.
