Flooding relief in Fox Lake

  • Article
text size: AAA

As a frequent visitor to Fox Lake, I was driving through on Route 12 and noticed that Grand Avenue from Route 12 to the railroad tracks was dry.

I was surprised because it had always flooded the street and businesses, including Whistle Stop.

Perhaps it's because of the retention tank for stormwaters that the new Thornton's gas station put in had an impact on the flooding situation in the past. Every time it rained there was a flash flood down Grand Avenue to the tracks.

What a relief for the residents and business owners.
