New Northbrook Resource for Students Requiring In-Home Tutoring

According to Education.com, the average tutored students achieved performance gains about two standard deviations above the average students in conventional classrooms with a class size of 30 students. This translates into most students raising their grade point average by two points within just eight weeks.

Tutoring produces effects not only on the cognitive level, but also on the affective level. In addition to higher achievement scores, tutored students develop positive attitudes toward the subject matter covered in the instruction.

To help struggling Northbrook students achieve these results, ClubZ! home tutoring has opened a Northbrook-based operation.

“I learned firsthand with my three children that tutoring helps them set goals and achieve success. So when I had the opportunity to join the ClubZ! franchise, I knew that one-on-one tutoring would benefit junior high students looking to improve their knowledge and academic performance before entering high school; and help prepare high school students to achieve higher ACT and SAT scores,” according to Hank Song, ClubZ!/Northbrook's owner.

Song notes that Club Z! is an academic solutions provider offering a customized in-home learning program customized to each student. Tutors -- experts in their subject area(s) – are matched with a student based on his/her academic weaknesses. In addition, tutors work with a child's school curriculum to help impact results where it matters most - in the classroom.

“We recognize that there are other tutoring programs, but the ClubZ! system caters to in-home study and does not require a long-term contract. Most importantly, we allow students to select the tutor that best matches their needs and personality. Both parents and students are delighted with the results,” adds Song.
