The Lindenhurst Park District hosts an Earth-Arbor Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Lindenhurst village hall/public works facility, 2301 Sand Lake Road. Among the events is the Illinois Association of Park District's annual "Flying 4 Kids" kite fly from noon to 2 p.m. at Slove Park, next to village hall. This kite fly was designed to create awareness and raise funds for park districts, forest preserves, conservation and special recreation agencies in Illinois. The first 50 participants will receive a free kite. Visit www.lindenhurstparks.org.
