Lombard Residents in York Township can Apply for Storm Damage Assessment Relief

LOMBARD, Illinois— York Township is offering an opportunity to seek assessment relief for affected property owners that experienced significant property damage from the recent storm event. Property owners must reside within the Township boundaries to request the assessment relief.

The York Township storm damage assessment program can provide relief for residents that have structural building damage that could potentially impact the value of their property. Damage to personal items, such as personal contents or appliances, would not be covered by the program.

“I encourage every eligible resident to pursue all available resources to get relief and to request an application with the York Township Assessors Office. It is a good start to get the residents their needed assistance,” said Lombard Village President-Elect Keith Giagnorio.

Property owners seeking assessment relief can refer to the York Township Assessor's website at www.yorkassessor.com/York/ to fill out a request form. Any submitted applications would be reviewed for assessment relief for the 2013 assessment year, in which the property taxes are payable in 2014.
