Vernon Hills Art Students Win Regionals, On to National Competition

Advanced Placement Art students at Vernon Hills High School made the Top 10 Shoe Designs in the Northeast Region and were selected as being one of the Top 50 in the nation for the Custom Culture Shoe Competition sponsored by VansĀ®. Students and area residents should vote for them as many times as possible starting April 22 through midnight on May 13. Go to: http://www.vans.com/customculture/vote/top50/, scroll down to the Northeast Region, and vote for Vernon Hills High School. Please spread the word and tell your friends, colleagues, and family to vote, too. (If you receive a message about an IP address, this means you need to change devices or Wi-Fi areas.)

If VHHS artists' shoe designs advance to the National competition (topping the public vote in the Northeastern Region), VHHS could win $50,000 for the Art Department and student scholarships!

Students had to design shoes with the following themes: Music, Art, Local Culture (Chicago), and Extreme Sports. Their entries are pictured here.

Thank you for your support on behalf of our d128 student artists and the Cougar Art Department. If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail art teacher Allison Molloy at allison.molloy@d128.org. Vote Today!
