Stevenson wins Palatine Invite

Stevenson takes first: Stevenson dominated the Palatine Invite, taking the championship with a 25-12, 25-16 victory over Palatine in the finale. The Patriots didn’t lose a single game over the course of five matches, wins over Palatine (27-25, 25-18), West Aurora (25-18, 25-15) and Waubonsie Valley (25-12, 25-8) in pool play, and a 25-19, 25-13 win over Lake Zurich in the semifinal. Brad Tiller led the way with 38 kills over the five matches. Brett Lerner and Aaron Zalewski were close behind with 29 kills each. Setter Jonah May had 96 assists while Brian Dubinsky led the team with 55 digs over the tournament. The Patriots are now 19-2 on the season.

Libertyville takes fifth: At the Palatine Invite, Libertyville placed fifth. Dan Tropple had 28 assists and Lucas Thompson had 24 assists in three games. Michael Axe had 14 kills on the second day.
