Grant thunders to triumph at Round Lake

Grant’s boys track and field team took first place at the six-team Blue Thunder Invite at Round Lake on Friday.

The Bulldogs finished with 164.5 points to 87 points for second-place Round Lake. Wauconda took fourth place and Grayslake Central finished in sixth.

Grant’s Brandon Lombardino won both the shot put (60-feet) and the discus (179-feet-8).

The Bulldogs also won two relays, the 4 x 400 (3:49.6) with Peter Audrain, Kyle Hatton, Joe Bachofner and Jeremy Bredwood and the 4 x 800 (8:38.3) with Joe Rachofner, Hatton Audrain and Dalyn Romig.

Also for Grant, Billy Sullivan won the 400-meter dash (52.5), Jonathan Wells won the high jump (6-foot-6) and Keion Miller won the triple jump (42 feet).

For Round Lake, Angel Carrera won the 3,200 run (10:33.2) and Manuel Ocana won the 300 hurdles (43.4).
