I-290 exit ramps to Rt. 64, U.S. 20, I-294 closed in Elmhurst area
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Thursday that due to flooding, the I-290 exit ramps to North Avenue, U.S. Route 20 (Lake Street) and northbound I-294 are closed.
The closures are expected to last one day or more and will be lifted as soon as the flooding recedes, IDOT said.
Motorists attempting to reach northbound I-294 will be detoured to Mannheim Road, back west on I-290 to I-294 northbound.
In addition, IDOT announced that flooding has also resulted in the closure of I-94 (Bishop Ford Freeway) between the Dan Ryan Expressway/I-57 Interchange and state Route 83 (Sibley Blvd/147th Street), as well as the Stony Island Feeder ramps between the Bishop Ford and 95th Street.
These closures are also expected to last one day or more and will be lifted as soon as the flooding recedes.
Ramps will be closed to the Bishop Ford from I-57, Dan Ryan Expressway, the Stony Island Feeder Ramp, and 103rd, 111th, 115th and 130th streets.
A posted detour will follow I-57 and Route 83. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel through this area.
