Des Plaines 6th Ward Alderman sworn in as acting mayor

Des Plaines 6th Ward Alderman Mark Walsten was sworn in as Acting Mayor by City Clerk Gloria J. Ludwig at the Monday, April 15, 2013 City Council Meeting, at City Hall, 1420 Miner Street. The Mayor's position, which became vacant when former Mayor Martin J. Moylan was elected State Representative of the 55th District in November, has been filled on a temporary basis by 8th Ward Alderman Mike Charewicz, who served until Monday, February 4, 2013, 1st Ward Alderman Patricia Haugeberg, who served until Tuesday, February 19, 2013, 4th Ward Alderman Dick Sayad who served until Monday, April 15, 2013, and 6th Ward Alderman Mark Walsten who will serve until May 6, 2013 when Matt Bogusz, the City's 3rd Ward Alderman, is sworn in as Mayor as a result of being elected to the position in the April 9, 2013 Election.
