Learn to identify native Illinois orchids May 1 at Spring Valley

Learn about native orchids of Illinois at Schaumburg Park District.

Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road, will host a free presentation for all ages on Illinois orchids at 7:30 p.m., May 1. Presenter Kathleen Marie Garness, a rare plant monitor for the Chicago Botanic Garden and an accomplished painter, will help the audience identify many Illinois orchids and see how they are being conserved in Illinois and Chicago.

Garness' orchid paintings will be on display in the Nature Center library during April and May.
