Schaumburg names volunteers of the year

Winners in three categories were announced Tuesday afternoon at Schaumburg's 26th annual Volunteer of the Year Awards Luncheon.

Harold Sterling, a volunteer with organizations including the Schaumburg Park District Senior Center, Meals on Wheels and the Schaumburg Police Department's efforts to keep disabled residents safely maintained in their homes, was the adult individual winner.

Isha Jog, a Hoffman Estates High School senior, was the youth individual winner for her participation with a large number of causes.

Sons and Daughters of Italy in America was the volunteer organization winner for their financial and hands-on support of a variety of community efforts, including the annual Septemberfest festival.
