Plainfield school in Des Plaines to show off renovations

Plainfield Elementary School in Des Plaines will showcase building improvements and renovations during a community open house 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17. This event will give school officials a chance to show off the 47-year-old school.

Principal Guillermo Heredia said the public is invited to visit and tour the school, 1850 Plainfield, from 5 to 6 p.m., prior to the K-2 musical.

Upgrades included installation of interactive technology, fresh paint and flooring, and improved heading, air conditioning and lighting systems.

Plainfield was one of three schools renovated during Phase III of the Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 Master Plan. Iroquois Community School is hosting a FOSS Science Night and Community Open House featuring Mr. Freeze from Fermilab on Thursday, May 9. And Orchard Place Elementary School will host a community open house Tuesday, May 21.
