Elgin

• Robert W. Repenning, 59, of the 1100 block of Candlewood Road, Elgin, was charged Tuesday with harassment after he called his wife's former employer in the 900 block of North State Street and made threats Dec. 14 and March 18, according to a police report. Repenning made the calls from a pay phone in the 1100 block of North McLean Boulevard. Polce identified Repenning, whose wife lost her job after staff cuts, via video surveillance and debit card purchases from a business near the pay phone police said he used.

• Armando Cazares, 19, of the 600 block of Center Street, Elgin, was charged Tuesday with criminal defacement of property, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing identification after he used a black marker to write on a garbage can and a street sign in the area of the 900 block of Dundee Avenue, according to a police report.

• James T. Maloney, 40, of the 1900 block of Royal Boulevard, Elgin, was charged Tuesday with violating an order of protection and resisting a police officer, according to a police report.

• Carlos I. Ramos-Bermudez, 26, of the 300 block of Ryerson Avenue, Elgin, was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop at State and Washburn streets, and later charged with obstructing identification and possession of fraudulent ID card, according to a police report.
