Lucas, Grant power to victory

Grant 8, Grayslake North 1: Simeon Lucas blasted a 2-run home run, his fourth homer of the season, to help Grant get the victory. Lucas was 2-for-3 on the day, drove in 3 runs and also had a double. Jake Ring and Ryan Noda were also 2-for-3 on the day. Ring had 2 doubles and Noda had a double as well.

Jordan Villarreal drove in 3 runs for the Bulldogs. Pitcher Doug Murphy moved his record on the mound to 2-0 on the season with the win. He gave up just 1 earned run in six innings pitched.

Notre Dame 2, Vernon Hills 0: Despite 9 strikeouts and just 1 earned run out of starter Tyler Feece, Vernon Hills lost in a pitchers’ duel. Notre Dame pitcher Patrick Dillon threw a complete game and allowed no runs on just 2 hits. He struck out 11 batters.

Deerfield 7, Lakes 1: Deerfield rolled up 12 hits as Lakes dropped to 2-8 on the season.
