Judson softball splits

Shannon Nevins had a triple and an RBI while Bri Tennyson (2-for-3) and Maddie Smith (2-for-4) also drove in runs to lead the Judson University softball team to a 6-5 win over St. Ambrose at the St. Francis tournament Saturday.

Bri DiGiola and Amber Mysliwiec each had 2 hits for Judson and Sarah Boyer gave up 7 hits and had 11 strikeouts to earn the pitching win.

The Eagles then fell to Indiana Wesleyan 11-8. DiGiola had a 3-run home run for the Eagles, while Tennyson (3-for-5), Nevins (3-for-5, 2B, RBI), Smith (3-for-4) and Amanda Hart (2-for-3) also contributed. Tennyson was the losing pitcher for Judson (24-8).
