Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 has named the new principals for Armstrong Elementary School in Hoffman Estates and Keller Junior High School in Schaumburg for the 2013-14 school year.
Diana Lipman, current assistant principal at District 54’s Enders-Salk and MacArthur elementary schools, will be the new principal at Armstrong.
Heather Wilson, current assistant principal at the district’s Link and Nerge elementary schools, will be principal of Keller.
Lipman will replace Beth Erbach, who will be assistant superintendent of student learning next school year. Lipman previously taught at District 54’s Eisenhower Junior High School and at Troy Middle School in Plainfield.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing leaders who have given me experiences to be a leader,” Lipman said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to working with the parents, students and staff at Armstrong. The core of what I believe is supporting teachers and staff and making sure we further student learning in every way we can.”
At Keller, Wilson will replace Sue Mayernick who is moving on to be the district’s early childhood director. Wilson has previously been assistant principal at District 54’s Frost Junior High and a teacher and math coach at Ben Franklin Elementary School in Glen Ellyn.
“We have an amazing administrative team and they have prepared me for being a leader at the junior high and with the early childhood program as well,” Wilson said in a news release. “This is a district which truly focuses on what is best for our students.”
Lipman and Wilson’s promotions creates new vacancies at the assistant principal level in District 54 for which candidates are currently being interviewed.
