Stevenson blanks Zion-Benton

Jenna Weiner scored twice and added an assist, and Stevenson’s girls soccer team shut out visiting Zion-Benton 6-0 in North Suburban Lake Division action Thursday.

Blake Klinsky had a goal and an assist. Stevenson (1-2-1, 1-1) also got goals from Sarah Putwen, Rachel Blumenthal and Anne Geocaris. Kya Suzuki, Megan Petrick, Emma Jaeger and Carolyn Briggs added assists.

Keepers Cori Calcaterra (1 save) and Maddy Boutros (2) shared the shutout.

Mundelein 1, Lake Forest 1: Megan Carroll scored the game-tying goal with about 20 minutes left, as the visiting Mustangs earned a tie in North Suburban Lake play.

Cristy Nambo earned the assist for Mundelein (3-0-2, 1-0-1).

Mustangs keeper Brooke Dennis made 4 saves.

Lakes 3, Wauconda 1: The Eagles led the North Suburban Prairie Division opener 2-0 at half on goals by Megan Soderlund and Brianna Rosales.

Nicole D’Ambrose added the third goal for Lakes (1-1, 1-0). Alyssa Brey, Kim Messner and Mikaela Brown all had assists.

Lakes keeper Kara Jones made 8 saves.

Maddi Granada scored the lone goal for Wauconda (0-2, 0-1). Bulldogs keeper Kimmi Bower made 17 saves.

Vernon Hills 7, Round Lake 0: Kristen Guglielmi scored the first two goals, both assisted by Kaitlin Gramins, as the Cougars shut out the Panthers and improved to 2-3-1.

Vernon Hills also got goals from Gramins, Haley Lieberman, Katherine Brettman, Heidi VanderBloomer and Erin VanDemerkt. Lieberman and Brettman also had 1 assist apiece.

Crystal Lake Central 4, Grayslake Central 0: Rachel Effa and Kajal Chokshi combined for 7 saves for the Rams.

Jacobs 3, Grayslake North 0: Grayslake North keeper Megan Davis made 6 saves.
