Huntley 2, Rolling Meadows 0: The Red Raiders managed just 3 hits but scored twice in the first inning and made it stand up for a nonconference win. Megan Boczewski was 2-for-3 for Huntley (3-0). Haley Spannraft picked up the win, allowing 7 hits with 2 strikeouts and no walks.
Dundee-Crown 14, Westminster Christian 0: Casey Weeks was 3-for-4 with a triple to lead Dundee-Crown to a nonconference win in its season opener. Mallory Schilf (2B), Rachel Chlopek (2B) and Carly Stallings (2B) also contributed for the Chargers. Amanda Eissler was the winning pitcher, allowing no hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in 3 innings.
Cary-Grove 3, Antioch 1: Lindsay Efflandt struck out 12 and allowed 6 hits as the Trojans (2-0) won in nonconference play. Efflandt was also 2-for-3 with a double, Jaime Deering had a double and Amy Clemment 2 hits for Cary-Grove.
Regina 10, St. Edward 9: Regina downed the Green Wave at The Dome at The Ballpark in Rosemont with a run in the seventh inning of a game St. Edward led early 6-1. Ashley Gradisher (2-for-4, 3 RS, 2 SBs), Ryann Scully (RBI), Allison Stratman (3 RBI), Julie Larson (RBI), Lindsay Zdroik (RBI), Kali Kossakowski (2 SBs) and Megan Strong (2 SBs) led the offense for the Green Wave (2-2). Zdroik was the losing pitcher.
Lake Park 3, Elgin 2: The Lancers scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to edge Elgin in Upstate Eight crossover play. Kelly Bremer had a home run for the Maroons (5-2, 1-1). Jennah Perryman was the losing pitcher.
Metea Valley 8, Larkin 3: Jaclyn Saurbaugh was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Larkin in this Upstate Eight loss. She was also the losing pitcher. Alexis Price had an RBI for the Royals.
