Heineman eighth-grade girls' basketball team sweeps season, conference

  • The Heineman Middle School eighth-grade girls' basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. The eighth-grade girls' basketball team at Heineman Middle School in Algonquin recently completed its regular season with a perfect 10-0 record.

After winning the regular season conference championship, they entered the conference tournament as the number one seed where they defeated Cary Junior High School, Marlowe Middle School and Johnsburg Middle School to win the overall tournament championship. Congratulations to team members: Heather Baldacci, Madison Carbon, Elizabeth Raclawski, Madelyn Meyers, Kristy Swanson, Emily Hill, Ellie Ferency, Abigail Ryan, Abbey Brown, Morgan Clausen, Courtney King, as well as team managers Michael Parks and Matthew Kapolnek, head coach Chris Kang, and assistant coach Jason Monson.
