Des Plaines Camera Club Presents Education Month!

April will be an exciting educational month!

The Des Plaines Camera Club is a group of individuals who share an interest in photography. The club provides encouragement to members to expand their interests in photography in which they not only learn from one another, but also have an outlet for their creative interest. Meetings include workshops, lectures, and demonstrations in computer programs and traditional film and digital photography. The club is a member of Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (C.A.C.C.A) and enters monthly inter-club contest.

April 15 will focus on favorite photo sites in Chicago. Christ Smith will give a presentation of some of his favorite photo sites in Chicago. He will demonstrate his techniques to capture light trails, stars, the moon and other effects only possible at night. He will show equipment he uses and also discuss the difficulties in night photography and how to overcome problems. Q and A will take place during the presentation.

April 22 will be an evening of real time professional photography. Roger Mattingly, a professional photographer will present information on speedlights, show equipment needed for a home studio using speedlights. In addition he will demonstrate with a live model how to shoot with one light, two lights and various umbrellas, reflectors etc. All live shots of the model will be shown on a large screen so that you will see the progression of the shot setups. Q and A will take place during the presentation.

Under normal situations The Des Plaines Camera Club meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month September thru May. Due to the elections in April 2013, the DPCC has changed is schedule to hold the meeting on the second and third Monday, April 15, and April 22. Meetings are at 7:00pm in the Des Plaines Park District Arndt Field House located at 1990 White Street in Des Plaines.
