The Cure, Nine Inch Nails lead Lolla lineup

British rockers The Cure will headline Lollapalooza for the first time this summer on a lineup announced Monday that also includes Mumford & Sons, The Killers and the newly-revived Nine Inch Nails, playing their first U.S. show since breaking up.

Also on the bill for the major music festival -- running Aug. 2 to 4 in Chicago's Grant Park -- are The Lumineers, Phoenix, The Postal Service and Vampire Weekend.

The show also will showcase musical talent with roots in the suburbs. Wild Belle, featuring Barrington siblings Natalie and Elliot Bergman, will play Sunday, Aug. 4, as will Makeshift Prodigy, which includes Elk Grove Village native Brandon Fox.

Lollapalooza once again features a mix of classic and new headliners, something the festival's passionate fans have come to expect.

The festival begins Friday, Aug. 2, with The Killers, Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, among other acts. Saturday's big names include Mumford & Sons, The Postal Service, The National and The Lumineers. The weekend wraps up Sunday, Aug. 4, with The Cure, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Knife Party and Grizzly Bear.

Three-day passes for the popular festival sold out three hours after going on sale March 26. A limited number of $95 Single Day Passes will go on sale Wednesday morning. Go to lollapalooza.com for details and a full lineup.
