Barrington rallies past D-C
Barrington answered Dundee-Crown’s tying 3-run rally in the top of the seventh with a big finish of its own as the Broncos got a pair of runs to win 7-5 on Thursday in nonconference play at Barrington.
Broncos catcher Ryan Lidge homered and doubled twice, and teammate Mitch Pfieffer tripled.
The Broncos committed just 1 error to make a winner of Bennett Hillestead.
Elk Grove 11, Addison Trail 4: The visiting Grens produced 4-run rallies in the third and fifth innings to pick up a nonconference road win.
Mike Woods started and allowed 4 runs in 3 innings, and Jake Andrews provided 3 innings of hitless shutout relief for the Grens.
Josh Bergbreiter doubled twice and walked to drive in 5 runs. Peter Arbov and Matt Wary both had 2 hits, and Luc Dimaso singled and drove in 2 runs.
Huntley 12, Palatine 4: The visiting Pirates scored twice in the fourth inning to pull within 2 runs of the host Red Raiders before an 8-run bottom half of the inning put Huntley back in command for good.
