Travel back in time to volunteer in 1880s Schaumburg.
Volkening Heritage Farm at Spring Valley will host a new volunteer open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 20 at the Farm Visitor Center, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. Interested volunteers will enjoy light refreshments, see other historic volunteer interpreters in action, and learn about dressing in authentic historic outfits and showing visitors what life was like over 130 years ago.
