Blackhawks’ Bolland ‘OK, but can be better’

Dave Bolland doesn’t have a point in 17 of the 26 games he had played for the Blackhawks, with a faceoff winning percentage of just 44 percent.

“Bolly’s been OK, but I think he can be better,” Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said.

Bolland started the season well as the Hawks’ new No. 2 center, but lately he has appeared to hit a wall with no goals in his last 13 games.

“I’d like to see him (play) with more tenacity in the puck area and have the puck more,” Quenneville said. “Have that pace to his game, whether he’s challenging the other team’s top player or not. I think he still can be considered offensively contributing and more predictable defensively.

“I don’t know whether it’s expectations measuring in production to that goal level — we don’t have a number in mind. We’d just like to see that consistency game in and game out where Bolly’s a factor, knowing that he’s hard to play against and defensively reliable.”

Trade talk:Jarome Iginla declined to talk to the press following the morning skate Tuesday, but he did speak after the Flames#146; 2-0 loss.Iginla has been the focus of intense trade speculation the past week, with TSN reporting that he submitted a list to the Flames of four teams to which he would consider waiving his no-trade clause.The Hawks supposedly are on Iginla#146;s list.Iginla teammates were left to do the talking for him in the morning.#147;Most of us can read, and so we#146;re aware of it,#148; forward Michael Cammalleri said. #147;This might be a boring answer, but for me I think the best way to deal with it is just understand it. It#146;s really not that hard to understand.#147;We play in a Canadian market where people really love hockey, Jarome Iginla is the face of the Calgary Flames franchise for how long now, and so people have an emotional attachment to him and the team. It#146;s going to be a lot of gossip when it comes to this topic.#148;Frolik rewind:With 2 goals and an assist in Monday#146;s loss to Los Angeles, Michael Frolik took advantage of playing on the first line with Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad.#147;When you play with Tazer and Saad you obviously have a little more offensive time and spend more time in the offensive zone,#148; Frolik said. #147;They both have great speed. I tried to go to the net.#148;Power outage:The Hawks#146; power play was 0-for-5 against the Flames and is now 1-for-12 in the last four games without Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp.#147;You miss two guys like that for sure,#148; Patrick Kane said. #147;They want the puck when they#146;re on the power play, and they like to make plays. I think that#146;s huge when you have the confidence and patience to make plays, then you#146;re going to have success.#148;Hossa and Sharp skated Tuesday morning, and Joel Quenneville wouldn#146;t rule out getting both players back either Friday against Anaheim or Sunday at Detroit.#147;I#146;m not ruling (Friday) out, but we#146;ll see,#148; Quenneville said in regard to both players. #147;I think we#146;re stretching it a bit.#148;
