Sunny start for Meadows

Spending spring break in Florida, the Rolling Meadows softball team will return to Illinois later in the week with at least one win.

The Mustangs won a six-inning 10-0 decision over Holton-Arms High School (Bethesda, Md.) on Monday morning at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida.

Meadows senior ace Sara Brunlieb (1-0) threw a 3-hitter with 5 strikeouts in the Mustangs’ opener as everyone in the Mustangs’ starting lineup collected at least 1 hit.

Leading the offense were senior Sam Anderson (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base), senior Hannah Whidden (3-for-4, RBI, stolen base), junior Jenny Watson (2-for-3, stolen base), senior Sarah Caprio (3-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and sophomore Maddie Morgan (2-for-3, RBI, stolen base).
