Daily Herald report

AARP Illinois hosts an affordable utilities forum on Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ramade Inn Waukegan, 200 N. Green Bay Road, Waukegan. The forum is designed to reach out to Waukegan-area residents about a new wave of potential electric, gas, water and telephone rate hike bills before the General Assembly, and urge citizens to voice their concerns to elected officials. More than 64 percent of the state's 1.7 million AARP members are concerned about the costs of utility services, AARP officials said.
