Elgin

• A cabdriver was robbed at knife point of about $60 in cash at about 10 p.m. Saturday from a male customer he had picked up near downtown, police said. The cab pulled over to drop off the customer on Meyer Street, and the customer pulled out the knife, held it to the driver's throat and demanded cash. The customer is described as 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall with thin build and a mustache.

• Anthony Delapena, 41, of the 600 block of Wellington Avenue, Elgin, was charged with retail theft Feb. 12 after police said he took more than $300 worth of merchandise from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Larkin Avenue, court documents show. His bail was set at $30,000 in the Elgin branch of Kane County bond court Wednesday. His next court date is March 28.

• Deonte D. Williams, 20, of the 1500 block of Mark Avenue, Elgin, was arrested just after midnight Saturday on Clifford Court and charged with obstructing identification and consumption of alcohol by a minor, according to a police report. Police responded to a call about an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. People at the scene gave police Williams' name, which he denied was his name. No information was immediately available about Williams' next court date.

• A TV and a mountain bike and were stolen sometime between 5:30 p.m. March 13 and 1 p.m. March 14 from a residence on Bode Road, police said. A basement window was found broken.
