As much as I try to understand the love some people have for their guns, I canít quite accept that their love for guns trumps my love of my right to not have guns in public places.
How do you explain to an innocent bystander hit by a bullet that missed its target or even went through someone and hit another, that the Second Amendment was designed to allow such collateral damage?
March 14 marked the three-month anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Eight Children are shot each day. While we continue to debate our sacred Second Amendment, more than 700 children have been shot since Dec. 14.
If we canít stop it, can we at least slow it down? Please support a universal background check. Support a federal assault weapons ban. Support a ban on high-capacity magazines.
Please continue to speak out. Make calls, write letters, discuss it with all you know. Letís do it for the love of each other and our children.
