Award-Winning Mt. Prospect Cheerleading Club Expands Program

The Mt. Prospect Cheerleading Club (“MPCC”) is expanding its recreational competition level program to high school age youth. MPCC, recognized by the Illinois Recreational Cheerleading Association as an award-winning program, is very excited to offer this opportunity to the community to compete at the high school level governed by IHSA rules and regulations.

“We are so excited about the extension of our program to the high school level,” says Modie Eggebrecht long time Board Member for MPCC. She adds, “Every year, our members build a camaraderie and bond with each other and don't want their season to end. It's especially difficult for our 8th graders, who up until now, could no longer cheer with MPCC and want to continue doing what they love. In response to numerous requests by our members, we are pleased to be able to provide a senior team.”

The senior team consists of competition cheer and will not provide sideline support to any sports organizations in the community. “This is the perfect opportunity for kids who love cheerleading but may not want, for various reasons, to participate in their high school cheer program,” says Natalie Karasiewicz, the newly appointed club president. “Up until now, when our members graduated the 8th grade, their options were limited with regard to continuing in the sport they love. If they could not participate in their high school program, for whatever reasons, their only remaining option was to join an all star program. Elite programs are very costly and many families could not afford the thousands of dollars per year price tag. Now, we offer a third alternative… to continue the fun of competitive cheerleading at an affordable price.”

Registration for all cheerleading, grades K-8 and Senior Level (grades 9-12), will be held at RecPlex on April 27, May 1, and May 4, 2013. MPCC is an all volunteer, non for profit youth recreational cheerleading club for all kids grades K-12. MPCC accepts all skill levels and hold no tryouts to join.
